2010, was one of the hardest
years with the lose of our dear friend Richard
Mahaffy, who was our mechanic for over tens years, we all
miss him so much. The racing year started of with
Cookstown, which did not go very well although we were
first in the supertwins B race, which did let us come home
with a trophy and a cheque. A few weeks later we then went
to the Bush Road Races, which turned out very unsuccessful,
with the bike not being on form. A few months later it was
the time of the Manx Grand Prix, which we have been trying
to get over too for a few years but this year we just
decided to do it. It was a very long time to be away but we
did get very good qualifying times in the practices and
then in the races, yet again the bike did not perform well.
It was not the most successful of years but we are hoping
to do better in the incoming year, in which we are hoping
to complete all the Ulster rounds. We also had young
Lyons (Sam) racing this year, who competed in three
championships, which he finished in second, fourth and
sixth place and also has a lot of trophy’s to show
for it. He will be competing in 2011 in the 65 Cadet class.
Thank you too all who helped throughout the year, Bernard
Smyth, GSMCC Ballynahinch, All graphix, Kevin Horner
Building and Joinery, PJ Campbell electrical contractor,
Scotts of Hillsborough and CDW homes and Michele and Davy
for all there help and organizing the supporters
club.
